1001 is the first release on a major record label by Tempe, Arizona based rock group Dead Hot Workshop.[1] It was released in 1995[2] and was described as mix of country, folk and rock influences such as Neil Young, Allman Brothers, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings.[1] In 2005 1001 was included in the East Valley Tribune's Top 25 albums by Valley Bands, a list that included albums from bands such as The Refreshments, Jimmy Eat World, the Gin Blossoms and the Meat Puppets.[2]
