The 1957 NCAA Men's Division I Ice Hockey Tournament involved 4 schools in playing single-elimination play to determine the national champion of NCAA Division 1 Ice Hockey. It started on March 14, 1957, to March 15, 1957. The National Championship Game was on March 16, 1957. A total of 4 games were played at Broadmoor Arena in Colorado Springs,and this was the last time the National Championship was there until 1969. Also,Colorado College won their second national championship over Michigan.

Format

The two teams judged to be the best from each region (East and West) were invited to the tournament as participants in the single-elimination tournament. They were seeded to allow intra-regional play in the semifinal (the #1 team from the East plays the #2 team from the West and vice versa). In the semifinal round the two winning teams advanced to the National Championship game while the losers proceeded to a consolation game.
