2000 Australian Nations Cup Championship

The 2000 Australian Nations Cup Championship was a CAMS sanctioned motor racing title for drivers of Nations Cup cars. It was the inaugural Australian Nations Cup Championship.^[1]

Calendar

The championship was contested over an eight round series.^[2]

Round 1, Adelaide Parklands Circuit, South Australia, 8–9 April
Round 2, Eastern Creek International Raceway, New South Wales, 30 April
Round 3, Canberra Street Circuit, Australian Capital Territory, 10–11 June
Round 4, Queensland Raceway, Ipswich, Queensland, 2 July
Round 5, Oran Park, Sydney, New South Wales, 30 July
Round 6, Calder Park, Victoria, 20 August
Round 7, Gold Coast, Queensland, 13–15 October
Round 8, Mount Panorama, Bathurst, New South Wales, 17–19 November

Rounds 3,7 & 8 were contested over three races and all other rounds over two races.^[3]

Points system

Championship points were awarded on a 15-12-10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis for the first ten places in each race. An additional point was awarded to the driver setting pole position in qualifying for each round.^[4]
