The 2015–16 Purdue Boilermakers men's basketball team represented Purdue University. Their head coach was Matt Painter, in his eleventh season with the Boilers. The team played its home games in Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Indiana, and were members of the Big Ten Conference. They finished the season 26–9, 12–6 in Big Ten play to finish in a four way tie for third place. They defeated Illinois and Michigan in the Big Ten Tournament to advance to the championship game where they lost to Michigan State. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament where, as a #5 seed, they lost to Little Rock in the first round.

Previous season

The Boilermakers finished the 2014–15 season 21–13, 12–6 in Big Ten play to finish in a three way tie for third place. They advanced to the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament where they lost to Wisconsin. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament where they lost in the Second Round to Cincinnati.
