Air Transport Squadron 61

第61航空隊 (Air Transport Squadron 61 dairockujuuichikoukuutai) (also referred to as VC-61) is a unit in the Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force. It is a part of the Fleet Air Force and is based at Naval Air Facility Atsugi in Kanagawa prefecture.[1][2] From 1971-2014 it operated NAMC YS-11 aircraft. Since 1989 it has operated LC-90 aircraft and it has also operated Lockheed C-130R Hercules aircraft since 2014.
