Akishio (SS-579)
The Akishio (SS-579) was a Japanese diesel-electric Yūshio class submarine.
It was launched on 23 January 1987. In 2000 it participated in "Pacific Reach 2000", a submarine rescue drill in the South China Sea.[1]
It was decommissioned on 3 March 2004.[2] Since 5 April 2007 it has been the main exhibit of the JMSDF Kure Museum.[3][4]
