All Sports Band was an American pop/rock musical group who saw minor chart success in the early 1980s. The band was manufactured by Tracy Coats, who sought to appeal to a youthful market by dressing the band members as sports figures.[1] Coats spent 18 months auditioning tapes before selecting the band members.[1] The represented sports were auto racing, baseball, boxing, football, and martial arts.[1] Their first charting single was "I'm Your Superman" which reached Billboard Hot 100 chart position #93 on November 28, 1981 and was on the chart for two weeks.[2] Their second Hot 100 single, "Opposites Do Attract", did a little better, reaching position 78 and staying for three weeks, beginning February 6, 1982.[2] Both were on the Radio Records label, which was distributed by Atlantic Records.[2][3] The band appeared on both Solid Gold and American Bandstand.[1][2]
