Aloandro Ben Bekar

Aloandro Ben Bekar or Ben Bakr (also known as Aloandro or Aldroando Gil) was the last military Governor or Qadi of Faro, in Algarve, Portugal, at the time of its reconquest in 1249, and a descendant of Bakr Ben Yahia and thereby a probable descendant of the Babylonian Exilarchs.[1] He was later baptized.

Aloandro Ben Bekar was the father of Madragana, mistress to king Afonso III of Portugal, and ancestor of most of the royal houses of Europe.
