Amaktie Maasie (born 27 November 1982) is a Surinamese footballer playing as a striker for Inter Moengotapoe in the Hoofdklasse. He previously played for both Leo Victor and Robinhood. He is one of the most prolific attackers in the history of Surinamese football and has finished as top scorer in the Surinamese League three times.
Career
Maasie began his career at SV Leo Victor in 2002 finishing as top scorer of the SVB Hoofdklasse in the 2002-03 season with 18 goals.[1] In 2004 he transferred to SV Robinhood scoring 20 goals in the 2005-06 season.[2] He was subsequently transferred to Inter Moengotapoe, finishing his first season with 16 goals, one less than top scorer Ifenildo Vlijter.[3] His consecration with Inter Moengotapoe came two seasons later, finishing as top scorer twice in both 2009-10 (13 goals) and in 2010-11 (19 goals). [4]
International career
Maasie never became international with the Suriname national football team although he played a match against Guatemala with the Olympic team in 2003.[5]
