Amlai is a census town in Shahdol and Anuppur districts in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India.
It essentially has three parts to it.
- Amradandi
- Orient Paper Mills (OPM) colony
- Aayush fruit company (Amradandi)
- Hukumchand Jute Mills (HJM) colony
- Coalfields colony
- Soda Factory
- Birla Mandir
- Coal Mines Area
- MAIC Enterprises (VLE CSC) Bargawan
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[1] Amlai had a population of 30,292. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Amlai has an average literacy rate of 65%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 61% of the males and 39% of females literate. 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Not only this but it is a group of industries like paper mills, Aayush fruit company, jute factory, coal mines Which Play Major Role in Indian Economics as well as Madhya Pradesh economics and so on that come together to form the place called Amlai. Children up to higher secondary school are being trained under the Carmel Convent Higher Secondary School, OPM Higher secondary School, Government higher secondary school Amlai colliery district Anuppur, RC School Chachai, Ganesh Higher Secondary School, Central School, Sarwswati Higher secondary School and Some Govt And other Private School also running Very Well and Play Major role in literacy. If we talk about the demographic location, this place is beautifully gifted by nature's beauty with forests surrounding the entire place. It is not less than a hill station. During winters fog covers this place as a blanket. Winters are guarded by a low temperature that goes as low as 2 degree. Birla temple in the premises of Orient Paper Mill Colony & Amradandi is a good place to visit, Amarkantak Thermal Power DAM is also Good Tourist Spot, Amarkantak, Kapil Dhara is popular tourist hill station, connected through national highway 7, which is about 80 kilometers. Amlai has no tourism importance but it is an important town of central region for its industries and coal fields.
Orient Paper Mill, Aayush fruit company which is located inside of Amlai, is the biggest paper mill of Asia.
Besides many shops and hotels one can find many Hindu Temples in Amlai. A Jain Temple is also situated in Amlai.
Amlai is home to many animals but one can see monkeys wondering and swinging on trees.
Amlai Railway Station is situated just at 5km from main town.
Although many trains pass through Amlai but most of them won't have a halt at the station. Narmada Express and Amarkhantak Express are two of the very few trains which stop at the station.
