Andrew Kennedy (tenor)
Andrew Kennedy (born 26 May 1977) is an English tenor.
Kennedy was born in Ashington, Northumberland, England. He was a chorister at Durham Cathedral, attended Uppingham School, and then a Choral Scholar at King's College, Cambridge. Further study at the Royal College of Music was followed by a place on the Vilar Young Artists programme at the Royal Opera House.
He won 1st prize at the Jackdaws Vocal Award in 1999 (now called the Maureen Lehane Vocal Awards)[1] and from 2005–2007 he was a member of the BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists scheme. In 2005, he won the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Rosenblatt Recital Prize.[2] In 2006, he received a Borletti Buitoni Trust Award.
Andrew is represented by Hazard Chase.
In September 2014, Andrew took up the role of Head of Singing at Westminster School in central London.
