Andrew Sumner

Andrew Sumner is a British movie journalist and company director.^[1]

Sumner wrote for John Brown's comics news magazine, Speakeasy, in the 1980s. He was a movie critic for the NME, Vox and Total Film throughout the 1990s and wrote regularly for Uncut.^[2] Sumner published various magazines before launching the controversial Celebrity Bodies.^[3]

Sumner joined IPC as publisher of men's magazine Loaded in 2002,^[4] also becoming publisher of Uncut.^[5][6] He launched Uncut DVD ^[7] and later published Nuts and Now magazines.^[8]

During his time at IPC, Sumner revived Fleetway's classic British comics library, overseeing Dirk Maggs' Adventures of Sexton Blake for BBC Radio 2, co-publishing (with DC Comics) Leah Moore, John Reppion and Shane Oakley's Albion, Dave Gibbons and John Higgins' Thunderbolt Jaxon and Garth Ennis and Colin Wilson's Battler Britton. He curated Titan Books' reprint archive editions The King of Crooks, The Steel Claw and Albion Origins.^[9][10]

In 2005, Sumner presented The Uncut Film on Turner Classic Movies, a series of contemporary classic movies curated by Uncut that ran on TCM UK at 9pm Wednesdays.^[11]

Sumner currently runs Titan Merchandise, the movie merchandise division of the international Titan Entertainment Group.^{[12][13][14][15][16]}
