Anwar Farrukhabadi (Urdu: انور فرخ آبادی; Hindi: अनवर फर्रुखाबाद), also known as "Fana (فنا)", was a spiritual Sufi poet from Farrukhabad district[2] in north east India. He is known as lyricist in Ghazal, songs, poems and specially in Qawaali.
Life
Born on July 19, 1928, in Farrukhabad, Anwar Farrukhabadi left for Mumbai in 1945, in search of a better future, where he spent about 40 years. He died on June 29, 2011.
Work
He wrote lyrics for films such as Al Hilal, MerePiya and Pardesi Sajan. He also write up a MARSIYA (NOHA)مرثیہ /نوحہ Mashhoor Daastan Hai Shahadat Hussain Ki (مشہور داساتاں ہے شہادت حسینؑ کی ) sung by Shamshad Begum and Yusuf Azad Qawwaal, His Ghazal Yeh jo halka halka saroor hai sung by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan
