Arowana & Co. is a diversified investment group with operating subsidiaries and investments across the United States, Australia, New Zealand and Asia and listed vehicles on NASDAQ and the Australia Securities Exchange. Arowana has a track record of running, starting, fixing and growing businesses. Since inception, annualized returns have been in excess of 30%.[1]

Arowana & Co. employs a “fundamental value based” approach to both investment management and operational management. Its team comprises both investment executives and operational executives. Its approach is underpinned by an investment philosophy that is consistent across all of its investments and operations.[1][2]

History

Arowana & Co. was founded in 2007 [2] with the launch of the Arowana Capital Australasian Microcap PE Fund 1 (AMPEF 1). In April 2013 Arowana & Co. listed Arowana International Limited ( ASX: AWN ) via a reverse takeover of an existing listed shell and in June of the same year successfully closed AMPEF 1 and relaunched Arowana Capital as the venture capital arm of Arowana & Co. During May 2014 AWN carried out the Dual Listing of Intueri Education Group on the ASX and NZX with a market capitalization of A$236 million.[3] In July 2014 AWN launched the Arowana Funds Management division with the formation of the Arowana Australasian Special Situations Fund and in January 2015 launched the Arowana Australasian Value Opportunities Fund (AAVOF) on the ASX.[1] This was followed up by the IPO of Arowana, Inc. on the NASDAQ in May 2015.[1]

Arowana & Co. is a diversified investment group with operating subsidiaries and investments across the United States, Australia, New Zealand and Asia. It provides financial and human capital to listed and unlisted enterprises in order to enable them to accelerate growth.[4]

Arowana International Limited (AWN)

Arowana International Limited listed on the ASX in April 2013.[5] It is an investment conglomerate with a team that comprises a mix of investment specialists and operational management experts with a diverse skill set and extensive experience and track record across multiple industries.[1] Team members often work alongside management in the operating divisions, fulfilling executive roles and functions.[6]

AWN currently has three divisions:

Operating Companies Division

This division makes controlling investments in established, growth stage companies and helps them grow by deploying AWN's human, intellectual and financial capital. There are currently three investee companies in this division Intueri Education Group (ASX: IQE), Thermoscan Inspection Services and VivoPower Group.[2]

Funds Management Division

This division manages the Arowana Australasian Value Opportunities Fund (AAVOF), an ASX listed investment company (ASX: AWQ), the Arowana Australasian Special Situations Fund (AASSF), a registered venture capital limited partnership and Arowana, Inc. a NASDAQ listed investment company (NASDAQ: ARWAU).[6][7][8]

Arowana Australasian Value Opportunities Fund (AAVOF)

The AAVOF is an ASX listed investment company with a mandate to invest in Australian and New Zealand equities. As of November 2015 it has A$49 million of funds under management.[1] As of October 2015 the fund has cumulative returns of 7.75%.[8]

Arowana Australasian Special Situations Fund (AASSF)

The AASSF is an unlisted venture capital limited partnership that makes minority investments in growth or turnaround situations with positive asymmetric risk and yield potential. As of November 2015 it has A$28 million of funds under management.[1][9]

Enterprise Office Division

This division employs the investment team and provides the support services that facilitate the success of the other two divisions, operating principally from Sydney and Brisbane but also with a presence in Melbourne, Perth, Singapore, Manila and San Francisco.[6]

Arowana, Inc.

Arowana, Inc. is a NASDAQ listed special purpose acquisition company (NASDAQ: ARWAU) with US$82.8 million in cash.[1] Arowana, Inc. was established to make investments in the renewables energy space and has until October 2016 to consummate an acquisition.[1]

Arowana Partners Group (APG)

Arowana Partners Group managers a number of unlisted investments. It also arranges and manages acquisitions and syndicated investments in unlisted companies.[10] Two investments it has originated in Australia are Evolution Road Maintenance Group (ERMG) and Ubiquity Power Maintenance Group (UPMG).[10]

Arowana Capital

Arowana Capital (AC) focuses on early-stage venture capital investments and currently manages the Arowana Capital Australian Growth Enterprise Fund II LP, a A$10 million early-stage venture capital limited partnership.[11] The team members of AC are company builders with entrepreneurial expertise in building and scaling early-stage businesses.[12]

Intueri Education Group

Intueri is New Zealand's largest private vocational education company. It listed on the NZX and ASX in May 2014 and has colleges in Australia and New Zealand.[1]

Thermoscan Inspection Services

Thermoscan is a nationwide thermal imaging and preventative maintenance provider specialising in thermography scans and reports.[13]

VivoPower Group

VivoPower was launched in August 2014, and develops and acquires high quality, small and medium-sized solar PV assets in Australia, underpinned by long term power purchasing agreements.[1][14]

Arowana Partners Group

Evolution Road Maintenance Group

Evolution is Australia's largest traffic control and traffic management company, it has operations in every Australian mainland state and New Zealand.[1]

Ubiquity Power Maintenance Group

UPMG is an unlisted public company, providing generator, motor and switchboard installation and maintenance services, including to the renewable and data center industries.[1]

Arowana Capital

FX2School

FX2School is a payment service provider used by international students to pay their Australian and New Zealand tuition fees.[15] FX2School has developed its own proprietary payment network which enables it to offer lower fees than traditional payment channels.[16]

Luz Almond

Luz is a manufacturer of healthy almond based foods and beverages. It has developed a range of cold pressed almond milks, frozen almond desserts and almond yoghurts.[17]
