Asian Provocateur
Asian Provocateur is a 2015 British television series shown on the BBC in which comedian Romesh Ranganathan travels to Sri Lanka to learn about his parents' country.
In 2016, a second series, Mum's American Dream, was commissioned.[1]
Series 1 (2015)
Episode 1: Uncle Thiru

Romesh is sent to receive a tradition blessing, which involves a chicken being rubbed on his head.
Episode 2: Uncle Ragu
- Air date 7th October
Romesh visits his Uncle Ragu, in Batticloa, and is soon led astray.
Episode 3: Uncle Rubaharan
- Air date 14th October
Uncle Rubaharan introduces Romesh to the ancient martial art of angapora.
Episode 4: Cousin Krishna
- Air date 21th October
Romesh hangs out with his 12 year old mummy's boy cousin, Krishna.
Episode 5: King Kong
- Air date 28th October
Romesh is tasked with fulfilling a lifelong dream of his mother by performing in a tamil soap.
Episode 6: Shanthi's Return
- Air date 4th November
Romesh's mum, Shanthi, heads out to Sri Lanka so see what he's learnt and becomes furious when she realises he's been lying a lot.

Episode 1: Cousin Pratheep

Romesh and Shanthi meet cousin Pratheep in Florida.
Episode 2: The Family Reunion

Romesh and Shanthi go to Canada for a family reunion.
Episode 3: Brother Dinesh

Romesh and Shanthi tour the deep south with Romesh's brother, Dinesh.
Episode 4: Cousin Krishna Returns

Romesh hangs out with his cousin Krishna at a cowboy ranch in Colorado.
Episode 5: Uncle Ragu Returns
- Air date 9th November
Romesh tours Mexico city with his uncle Ragu.
Episode 6: The De Silva Cousins
- Air date 16th November
In their final week, Romesh and Shanthi visit the De Silva cousins.
