Around 2003 he started DJ-ing due to lack of available DJ's and later started producing music "Just For Fun".[1]
Early Years
Avalon produces daytime Full-on trance with a touch of Uk psychedelia, and has released 2 solo albums so far on the South-African music label Nano Records.[2]
He also produces music alongside labelmate Tristan as Killerwatts,[3] and alongside Sonic Species as Future Frequency.[4][5]
He released "Reality Check" album, as part of the Reality Grid duo with EVP in 2007 on Wildthings Records.
His musical career towered after Nano Records label boss Regan and Psytrance pioneer DJ Tristan heard him play, and signed him on the South-African label within only few days After releasing his first EP on the label, "Avalanche EP" In 2009.[6]
The British producer released his debut solo album in 2010. "Distant Future" featured 10 Full-On psytrance tracks, including collaborative tunes with some UK psytrance veterans Tristan, Dickster (Dick Trevor from Green Nuns of the Revolution) and Cosmosis.
The album was mastered by Israeli producer Ido Ophir aka Domestic.[7] "Distant Futures' made it to the no.1 spot on Beatport chart, and every single track in it made it to the Top 10.[8] [9]
In 2012 Avalon released his 2nd album on Nano Records. "The Remixes, Volume 1" presents remixes to some of his popular tracks by leading Psytrance artists like Captain Hook, LOUD, Tristan, Burn In Noise and Future Frequency to mention few.[10]
Music Style & Influence
Avalon music style considered pure Psychedelic full-on, highly energetic, highly frisky.[11]
He cited that he gets his inspiration almost from everything with a psychedelic influences from artists like Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Pink Floyd to Mogwai, Sigur Ros, Nirvana, Sonic Youth to Rocking, and translate these into Psychedelic Trance.
Collaborations & Side Projects
Over the years Avalon has collaborated and been remixed by the biggest artists in the genre such as Tristan, Astrix, Ace Ventura, Captain Hook, Cosmosis, Zen mechanics, Sonic Species, Ajja, Dick Trevor, Loud, Laughing Buddha and Symbolic and more.
One of his well known collaborations is Killerwatts, together with Tristan.
Avalon cites that 10 years ago while he was DJing in his first festival in samothraky island he was curious about one DJ who blew his mind,[12] later he found out that the DJ he was so inspired from was Tristan. 10 years later Avalon and Tristan collaborated and they are working together as Killerwatts.
Avalon also produces music with Sonic Species under the alias Future Frequency. It is a Progressive Psytrance project that seeks to combine the stye of the 2 producers[13] and bring the UK psychedelic vibe into a lower bpm.[14]
