Avery Dante Romero (born May 11, 1993) is an American professional baseball second baseman in the Miami Marlins organization.
Career
Romero attended Pedro Menendez High School in St. Augustine, Florida.[1][2] In September 2010, he committed to the University of Florida to play college baseball.[3]
Romero was drafted by the Miami Marlins in the third round of the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft.[4][5][6] He signed with the Marlins rather than attend Florida.[7][8] Romero made his professional debut that year with the Gulf Coast Marlins and also played for the Jamestown Jammers.[9] Romero played 2013 with the Batavia Muckdogs and Greensboro Grasshoppers and started 2014 with Greensboro.[10][11] In July he was promoted to the Jupiter Hammerheads.[12]
