B. Jeffrey Madoff is an American director, producer, photographer, writer and professor living in New York City. He is the founder and CEO of Madoff Productions. His film and video work includes commercials, web content, music videos and documentaries for clients. His online videos won the coveted Webby Award for Victoria's Secret in 2009. His films about Brooke Astor and Martha Graham have received notice in The New York Times.[2][3] His music video for UK recording artist DJ Fresh was number 1 on the MTV dance charts for four weeks in England and has had millions of views on YouTube.[4]

Early life and education

Madoff was born in Akron, Ohio. He attended Firestone High School. He graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin with degrees in philosophy and psychology. In 1971, he started and ran a men's and women's fashion company, Billy Whiskers. In 1972, Madoff was chosen as one of the top 10 designers in the United States.[9] He then moved to New York and started another fashion company, Benje. He sold the company in 1977.

Madoff Productions

Madoff founded Madoff Productions in 1983. The company offers a one stop shop for creative services, production and post production. They collaborate with their clients through concept development, production, editing and distribution. They work with advertising agencies, public relations firms and client direct. They produce powerful and entertaining work with a unique, brand right point of view. Their projects range from television commercials, web content, program production, brand imaging and product launches to documentaries.[10]

They have production relationships with people from the United States, Russia, Czech Republic, Japan, China, Italy, South America, England, France, Germany, and the Middle East.

Madoff is a professor at The New School. He teaches a course called, "Creativity: Making A Living With Your Ideas." His lectures discuss the primary elements that contribute to professional success. For his course, he brings in and interviews accomplished individuals on their ideas about success. His guest speakers include: editor of InStyle, Ariel Foxman, chief marketing officer for Ebay, Richelle Parham, bestselling author, Tim Ferris, CEO of the CFDA, Steven Kolb, founder of Gilt Groupe, Alexandra Wilkis Wilson, supermodel, Karlie Kloss and award-winning designer, Joseph Abboud.[32]

Madoff conducted a workshop on "Creating a Brand" at The New School for a group of business executives from Shanghai, China.[33]

Madoff has written over 50 articles for The Huffington Post. Several of his articles have been on the front page on The Huffington Post website, on the "Featured Posts" list. His article, "I'm Not That Madoff," has been featured in such publications as the New York Times and Wall Street Journal.[34]

Madoff produced the video content for "Under Fire," a play which won the coveted Audience Award.[35]

Madoff is writing a play about the life of Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and musical legend, Lloyd Price.

He is producing and directing the film, "The Hard Kill," based on his original screenplay.
