Balaji (leopard)
Balaji, an Indian leopard housed in the Sri Venkateswara Zoological Park, located at the foot of the holy seven hills in Tirupathi, is the largest leopard to be ever recorded. The leopard weighs 139 kg against the normal weight of 70 kg of its class. Balaji was born in 1994 and captured in 1996, when he weighed 108 kg. He eats 4 kg of beef daily, the same as the zoo's other leopards. The Park management is said to be in touch with the Guinness Book of World Records authorities seeking its entry in the records as the biggest leopard.[1][2] He died on June 11, 2013.[3]
