Balal is the Headquarters of Balal Panchayath in Kasaragod district in the state of Kerala, India.[1]
Demographics
As of 2001 India census, Balal had a population of 9647 with 4791 males and 4856 females.[1] It is located in northern part of Kerala state, in the eastern part of Kasaragod district.

Transportation
This village is connected to Karnataka state through Panathur. There is a 20 km road from Panathur to Sullia in Karnataka from where Bangalore and Mysore can be easily accessed. There are airports at Mangalore and Calicut.
