Ball Bullet Gun: Survival Game Simulation (ボール・ブレット・ガン サバイバルゲーム)[3] is a Super Famicom video game that was released in 1995 to an exclusively Japanese market. A translation patch was released in 2004 that rendered this video game into English.[4]
Summary
Simulating Japanese survival war games, players must survive an assault from the bad guys.[5] The closest equivalent that North American culture has to this game is paintball.[5] Each character is assigned a Japanese code name and a main weapon by the player himself. Players can only move up to a certain amount of squares per turn and can only be hit a certain number of times before being killed.[4] The game itself is divided into 24 different missions.[4] Victory conditions vary from mission to mission, and may be anything from "kill the leader" to "free the prisoner and return to the escape point.[4]"
Unlike a medieval strategy game, rushing at an opponent with nothing but a knife is the way to get killed.[4] Medium and long-range weapons are the speciality of the game. Battles can take place anywhere from desert islands to office buildings or shopping malls.[4] All the opponents are seen wearing helmets that resemble those of legendary Star Wars villain Darth Vader.[4]
