Barbara Hertiman
Bárbara Hertiman is a Venezuelan film editor but also a mixed media artist, a videoartist and a professional photographer.
Biography
Bárbara Hertiman is a mixed media artist. Exhibits / work at the level of media: Video art, video installations, video atmospheres, and photography regularly since 2009. She creates visual elements from the application of multimedia technologies, integrating diverse artistic disciplines in the construction of alternative media. In her artwork disappears the concept to refer the conjunction of the elements that give a sense of unity to the work. She also works as a freelance film editor.
Work
Her work has been exhibited in a number of major national and internationals events including the Museum of Acarigua (Venezuela), the FONLAD Festival (Portugal), at the FICBAQ ( International Film Festival of Barranquilla, 2013), the Bang Festival (Spain), at the Berlinale Talent (Argentina/Germany), and alson in differents stages of Venezuela: CELARG, the National Film Foundation, the auditorium of the College of France, the auditorium of the Cultural Association Humboldt, Ward Cultural Center Experimental Chacao, the auditorium of the Faculty of Humanities of the University central de Venezuela, at the Cultural Center Corp Banca, in the Auditorium of Banco Mercantil, and the projection room of the Peripheral Caracas.
"Venezuelan Bárbara Hertiman have the ambition to make “films with an artistic quality that anyone can relate to”. She said she truly understood what that meant after showing her short to her niece and bringing the six year old to tears".[1]

- Latin America represents competence in Marl Video Art Award 2014 - Germany with IN PRAISE OF DARKNESS.
- Selected in Brazil within the Festival Paraty Em Foco with IN PRAISE OF DARKNESS.
- Make sample video art AN EVENING WITH ATEMPO of the Humboldt Association of Caracas - Venezuela.
- Participation in the collective exhibition of video art in Paris Tropical BYOB in Paris - France.
- She has been selected to participate in the collectif exhibition "Foto féminas, once miradas femeninas en la fotografía contemporánea venezolana" at the Museum of Acarigua (Venezuela).[4] June/August 2014;
- She has been selected to participate in the Digital Art Festival FONLAD 2014, with her video In Praise of Darkness;[5]
- Project "Poetic Art" experimental short film adapted from the poem by Jorge Luis Borges of the same title has been exhibit at the XVIII International Festival Atempo, along with a series of videos of his own.
- Is selected in the Talent Campus Buenos Aires with the short Poetic Art (2011).
- Winner of the category of Video Art Festival XIV VIART with the video "Minimum Surface"[6] in 2010.
- Performs the solo exhibition of Experimental Video at the XVII International Festival Atempo, at the Cultural Center Auditorium Corp Banca and Banco Mercantil.
- Is selected in the Andean Meeting 2010 Multimedia ENAMU organized by the Embassy of France in Venezuela, Caracas French Alliance and the Center for Digital Design.[7]
- Participates in Video Art Show-Side B: Aesthetic-Laboratory at the University Simon Bolivar - USB Venezuela.
- In Spain stood out as representative of Venezuela in the International Competition Videominuto X with the projection of Skin at the Plaza Basilio Paraíso, Zaragoza.[8]
