Battle of Placentia
At least four battles involving Roman armies took place at or close to the ancient Roman city of Placentia (modern Piacenza):
- Battle of Placentia (194 BC)
- A civil war battle (siege) fought between forces of the Emperor Otho and his opponent Vitellius, (69 AD, the Year of the Four Emperors)
- Battle of Placentia (271) AD
- A civil war battle between the armies under the Emperor Majorian and general Ricimer on one side against the usurper Avitus (17 October 456 AD).
