Beluran is a town and a district located in the Sandakan Division, in the east Sabah, Malaysia. Its population was estimated to be around 104,484 in 2010.[1] Beluran town is located about 88 km from Sandakan town. Telupid, a sub-district of Beluran, is located about 100 km from Beluran town. The district of Beluran was formerly known as Labuk-Sugut.
The population is a mixture of many ethnic groups, with the Tidong, Kadazan, Dusun and Orang Sungai, communities being the four largest components.
Notable people
Beluran is the place of where Mohd Farid Saibun, the former Malaysia Under 17 and Sabah FA footballer, was born.
