Birch O'Neill

Birch O'Neill was the CIA station chief in Guatemala in 1953, succeeding Collins Almon.[1]When the CIA began Operation PBSUCCESS to overthrow Guatemalan president Jacobo Arbenz, O'Neill was not enthusiastic about the propaganda aspects. CIA director Allen Dulles had him replaced and the operation proceeded.[2][3]
