Brazilian Sketches is a 2006 Jazz Bossa Nova album by British Tenor saxophonist Jim Tomlinson and American Singer Stacey Kent, featuring Colin Oxley, John Pearce, Simon Thorpe, Chris Wells.[2][3][4] Its release produced a revival the Bossa Nova, â la Stan Getz, João Gilberto, Antonio Carlos Jobim and Astrud Gilberto fashion, around forty years back in. The main man, Jim Tomlinson, is a remarkable saxophonist who plays his instrument in the tradition of Stan Getz, who himself was one of the greatest saxophonists who ever lived in this planet. His style is defined as smooth, full of mastery, and a lot of finesse. It takes one Jim Tomlinson to relive and recreate Getz's exceptional style of playing. The Photographer on the cover is: Kevin Knight for Brazilian Sketches CD music.
