Brian James Roche

Brian James Roche (born 2 October 1987) is an Irish actor, writer and musician from Limerick, Ireland.

His first major television role was in the BBC/RTÉ television series Custer's Last Stand-up which won the BAFTA for best British Children's Drama Series in 2001. He went on to play the lead part of Matty in the 2003 Imison Award Winning BBC Radio 4 production of The SkateGrinder by Celia Bryce. As well as many theatre performances and title roles, he has a Legal Honours degree from Trinity College Dublin.

After a five star review in the 2011 Fringe festival, Brian was offered a lead role of Manuel in Fawlty Towers, the Dining Experience with a Brisbane-based Australian Company, Interactive Theatre International and began working in the Netherlands in February 2012 to great reviews. He has since toured the Netherlands, Belgium, Austraila, Spain, the UK and Ireland. He also has written and directed his first show in Ireland named 'Total Commitment (I Like Girls who can Sing)' which appeared in the 10 Days in Dublin festival 2012. He is a member of two bands, one based in the Netherlands and the other in London and continues to play sport.

In late 2012, Brian made his West End debut in Charing Cross, London and continued to perform there as well as touring internationally until 2015. He has shot a music video titled 'Take This Back Together' as well as a television pilot and a Failte Ireland golfing advert in 2015. He continued to dance and sing and in July 2013, he represented Ireland in the World Championships of Performing Arts in Los Angeles under the categories of Acting, Dance and Original Vocals and Music winning best overall world vocal. He was also awarded a scholarship in the New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts which he took up in 2014.

After touring Australia, Wales and Ireland in late 2013/2014, he returned to the West End in May 2014. He also had appeared in Ray Hyland's new film Riffed which premiered in Dublin on April 15th. He performed in the West End until June 2015 and then went up to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where they had a run of 43 sold out performances in 25 days. After a brief tour of Manchester, Cardiff and Majorca he finished with the show.

Brian then returned to Ireland to participate in the Voice Ireland on RTE where he got down to the last 100 but was unsuccessful thereafter. He returned to his home city of Limerick and performed in shows such as Legally Blonde the Musical, Annie Get Your Gun and has recently been cast as Sancho Pansa in Man of La Mancha. He will also be appearing in the TV3 crime drama Red Rock in March 2017 as a Limerick gangster called Little Barry.
