Bruno Sassen (13 March 1918 – 19 June 2006) was a member of the Fallschirmjäger during World War II and recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross (German: Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes). The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. After the war he studied veterinary medicine in Hanover.
