CKGY-FM is a Canadian radio station broadcasting a country music format at 95.5 FM in Red Deer, Alberta. The station uses the brand name "REAL COUNTRY" as of November 7, 2016. Formally known as "KG Country 95.5, CKGY-FM is the flagship station of the Real Country network for Alberta. The station is owned by Newcap Radio, which owns and operates over 60 other radio and TV stations across Canada, including CKGY's sister station, Zed 98.9. The station plays contemporary country music with some older hits thrown in every once in a while. CKGY changed over to the FM dial in 2001, after broadcasting on the AM frequency 1170 kHz where it had been heard since the early 1970s.[1]
