COD (Crews On Destiny)[1] is a Nepali Rn’B and pop band, formed in Kathmandu, Nepal in 2004 officially launched by Music Dot Com. They were the youngest artist to hit the mainstream media in Nepal. They were an inspiration to the young generation in Nepal, and had set a benchmark in Nepali music industry. Songs and albums produced by COD are usually in the Nepali language. Lyrics include themes of love, break up, drama etc. Their songs, like, “Ekanta cha thau,” “Sanjha ko bela,” "Beyoshi,” ”Syano Nepal,” “Aauta Pari,” “Let me - Bhana k Garu?" and “Maridinchu" amongst various others, were some of the biggest hits in Nepalese music industry. The song “Ekanta cha thau" from their First album Dead Past has been received as the most loved songs till now.
Present members
Alish Joshi better known as Alis Rana[2] Lead man of COD. He was born in Kathmandu, Nepal on September 23, 1988. He is the only member who has been with COD from the start till date. His hobbies are graphic designer, photography, sketching and video making. COD has seen many changes in its band's line up. But the force behind COD is unstoppable.
Musical career
In late 2004 they were in year seven/grade 7 when Alis started composing songs. His friend Sweekar was galvanized when he first came across the song "ekanta chha thau" and thought of giving a go and decided to record the song. After a year they had a great achievement by hitting their very first Studio Album so did their songs. Subsequently COD[3] became the first famous young Nepalese singers and had a widespread reputation. Thereafter one of the well known company 'music dot com' set a proposal to them which they affirmed and released their first official album. Their 1st album Dead Past released in 2004 had 8 songs along with 2 Music Videos "Ekanta Cha Thau" and "Sanjha Ko Bela". In 2010 their 2nd Project Road To Stardom was out under the record label Superstar Entertainment with song ranging in genres from Rn’B, Rap to Pop. They had done their first joint project along with GXSOUL in a song "Raat Vari" which was a major hit.
