Campeonato Pernambucano (lower levels)

The Campeonato Pernambucano lower levels are the football tournaments for the Pernambucano state clubs that don't play in the Campeonato Pernambucano First Division. The competitions are organized by the Pernambucano Football Federation. Usually, the champions of a division are promoted in the next year to the immediately upper level.

The table below shows the lower level champions of Pernambucano State Championship.

Competition format

The 2006 Second Level was disputed by 20 clubs divided in four groups of five clubs each in the first stage. The clubs played against the other teams of its group twice. The three best placed clubs of each group qualified to the second stage. In the second stage, the 12 clubs were divided in four groups of three clubs each. The clubs played twice against the other group teams. The two best placed clubs of each group qualified to the third stage. In the third stage, the 8 clubs were divided in two groups of four clubs each. The clubs played twice against the other group teams. The two best placed clubs of each group qualified to the final four group stage. In the final four group stage, the four clubs played against each other twice, and the two best placed teams were promoted to the following year's first level.
