The Esmeraldas woodstar, colibrí de Berlepsch, colibrí de esmeraldas, or estrellita Esmeraldeña (Chaetocercus berlepschi) is a species of hummingbird in the Trochilidae family. It is found only in Ecuador.[2] Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.[3] It is threatened by habitat loss.[4] Researchers recently found Esmeraldas woodstars at eleven new localities and collected the first female specimens of the species.[5]
