Chala, Peru

Chala is a Peruvian town located in the Arequipa Region, Caraveli Province, and district of Chala, of which is the capital town. It is located in front of the Pacific Ocean to approximately 170 km south of Nazca on the large route on the Panamerican Highway between Nazca and Camana cities. It is notable for the nearby Incan ruins of Puerto Inca.[1] According to the 2007 census, it had a population of 4776 inhabitants.[2]
