Msgr Jason Gordon was consecrated bishop of Bridgetown (Barbados) and Kingstown (Saint Vincent and the Grenadines) on 21 September 2011. Gordon (born March 17, 1959) was ordained a priest in 1991.

His career in the Roman Catholic Church can be considered atypical. He didn't go to seminary at the age of 18. After his father's death he ran the family business. He became involved in the Church through the Living Water Community. Before becoming a priest in 1991 at the age of 32, he had shown his engagement in several projects teaching skills to socially displaced youngsters. In the late 1980s and early 1990s he studied at the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium) where he got his BA and Master's in Theology. He completed his PhD in London.

He received some awards for his project to bring peace in the Gonzales Community (East Port of Spain) through participation of all the stakeholders (including the gangs and their leaders). He has mediated between communities in conflict, improved the standing of the Church and saved lives.[1] His weekly TV Mass (Trinity Communications Network) reached out to as many as 50,000 people a week.
