"Clubhouses" is the twelfth episode of the second season of the animated television series South Park, and the 25th episode of the series overall. "Clubhouses" originally aired in the United States on September 23, 1998 on Comedy Central. It is also the last episode to feature the Matt and Trey segment which always happened at the start of each episode.

Plot

Stan and Kyle set out to build a clubhouse so they can play Truth or Dare with Wendy and Bebe. Stan believes he will be dared to kiss his girlfriend, Wendy, and Bebe, who has developed a crush on Kyle, saying he has a "hot ass," plans to dare Kyle to kiss her. Kyle is reluctant to play, as he has no interest in girls yet, but is assured by Stan's lies, telling him that it is just "so we can make them eat bugs." Cartman and Kenny learn of Stan and Kyle's plans and set about building their own clubhouse based on the schematics for "Ewok Village 2000." Naturally Kenny, as the worker, does the lion's share of the labor—for example, skipping school to wait for the hot tub guys to call. Meanwhile, Cartman, foreman of the project, slacks off by eating Cheesy Poofs and watching television.

Meanwhile, Stan's parents' marriage begins to break down. Randy and Sharon divorce due to constant bickering despite Mr. Mackey's attempts at marriage counseling. Sharon does not seem to dwell on the break-up too long, however, and introduces Stan to a new stepfather, Roy, who promptly moves into the family home. At first, Roy seems to be a nice and understanding stepfather, but mere seconds later asks Stan when he is going to cut him some slack and repeatedly demands for Stan to do chores, especially chopping firewood.

Stan is banned from watching Terrance and Phillip by his mom and is made to watch a show called Fat Abbot (a spoof of Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids) instead, which quickly turns out to be even more profane than Terrance and Phillip. Stan and Kyle immediately begin to like the show.

Meanwhile, Cartman and Kenny complete their clubhouse first (albeit poorly and not much like the blueprint), and Kenny manages to get two 16-year-old girls who have run away from their nagging mothers to hang out with them. At first, the girls only want to gossip about their problems at school and at home, and later, they bring over some other teenagers who throw a party that night. Cartman attempts to get the girls to play Truth or Dare, but it ultimately fails when one of the girls says that Truth or Dare is for little kids. Kenny subsequently dies in a mosh pit in the clubhouse, leading Cartman to say Stan's usual line and Kyle, who was conveniently walking by the clubhouse, shouts his usual line (either shouting 'You bastards!' at Cartman and Kenny for stealing Stan and Kyle's clubhouse idea or simply saying his line like always is debatable). Stan and Kyle eventually finish their clubhouse despite not being allowed to use nails by Sharon's order.

Eventually, Sharon tells Stan that he must go to visit with his father, calling Randy a "bastard" when discussing the subject with Stan. For his part, Randy Marsh is apparently enjoying single life. He has bought a red Corvette convertible, is wearing an earring, flirts with girls at traffic lights and turns up at the aforementioned party in Cartman's clubhouse organized by the runaway girls. Like Sharon, Randy assures Stan that nothing is more "important" to him than his son, but speeds away before Stan can react to this statement.

Later on, the girls come over to Stan and Kyle's clubhouse to play Truth or Dare. Following Chef's advice, Stan attempts to play it cool; however Kyle jumps in and picks Dare. Wendy dares him to "kiss Bebe on the lips." Pressured, Kyle goes through with it but freaks out and runs out of the clubhouse screaming, "Sick!" with Bebe still marvelling at his "sweet ass." Stan feels pressured to say Dare and does so, but then Roy interrupts and asks Stan for firewood; Wendy and Bebe leave, ruining Stan's chance. Subsequently, following the dare, Bebe breaks up with Kyle (who was unaware they were actually going out) and instantly replaces him with Clyde.

Sometime later, Randy and Sharon get back together as Stan sets them up for a meeting in his clubhouse. Having met in a clubhouse years before while playing Truth or Dare, they have a passionate reconciliation, with Sharon admitting the truth that she still loves Randy and dares Randy to "do her" right in the clubhouse. As Randy and Sharon start to make love, Roy winds up hanging from a tree in a bear trap (an idea Stan got from watching Fat Abbot). The next day, Stan and Clyde play Truth or Dare with Wendy and Bebe. Stan asks for a dare, expecting to be asked to kiss Wendy. On the contrary, however, Wendy and Bebe dare Stan to "Take this stick and jam it up your pee hole.", shocking Stan. As the end credits go by, Roy is still hanging from the tree.
