Colin David

Colin David PP (Urdu: کولن ڈیوڈ) (1937, Karachi – 25 February 2008)[1] was one of Pakistan's most popular artists of the 1970s.[2] He was mostly famous for his figurative nudes.[2] He was awarded the President's Pride of Performance Award in 1995.[2]

Early life and education

David started studying art in the Fine Arts Department of Punjab University, Lahore in 1956.[1] In 1961 he graduated with a MFA.[1] He went on to study at the Slade School of Art, London where he was guided by Sir William Coldstream.[1]

David taught at the National College of Arts, Lahore in the 1970s.[2]

His paintings are displayed at the Pakistan Arts Council, Lahore, National Art Gallery, Pakistan and National Arts Gallery, Jordan.[2]
