County Councils Network
The County Councils Network is a special interest group within the Local Government Association. Its 37 members are all 27 English county councils and 8 of 55 unitary authority councils.[1] The network's stated purpose is "to promote the voice of its members within the Local Government Association and the values and interests of the English counties". The County Councils Network works on a cross-party basis, with members of its management committee drawn from all three major parties. The current Chairman of the County Councils Network is Cllr David Hodge of Surrey County Council. It currently campaigns on issues surrounding the devolution of power and centrally controlled funding to county areas.[2] The County Councils Network shares offices with the Local Government Association in Westminster.
