Cristian Zenoni (born 23 April 1977 in Trescore Balneario, Province of Bergamo) is an Italian football manager and former player, who played as a defender in the role of fullback. He is the twin brother of Damiano Zenoni.

Club career

Zenoni start his career at native club Atalanta B.C.. In 1996, Zenoni was loaned to A.C. Pistoiese. Described by press as young prospect, In June 2001, he transferred to A.C. Milan along with Massimo Donati for 60 billion Italian lire in a cash plus player deal (player was majority),[1] but quickly transferred to Juventus F.C. as part of Filippo Inzaghi's transfer in the opposite direction, he was tagged for 30 billion Italian lire or about €15.6M. He signed a 5-year contract. In summer 2003, Zenoni was loaned to U.C. Sampdoria [2] with option to sign permanently for 10 million euro.[3] But he was loaned again in summer 2004 and at the end of season he was signed for Sampodoria for €1M.[4][5]

International career

After representing the Italy national under-21 football team three times between 1998 and 1999, Zenoni was capped at senior level for the Italy national football team twice, making his debut in a 2-1 friendly home loss against Argentina, on 28 February 2001, under manager Giovanni Trapattoni.[6]

He was recalled by coach Roberto Donadoni, for his first match as coach in August 2006. He played the friendly match losing 0–2 to Croatia on 16 August, as starter.[6]
