Cummings Island is an uninhabited island in the Rideau River in the city of Ottawa in Canada and the site of a former settlement.[1][2]

Robert Cummings, son of the first settlers on the island, bought the island from the government in the middle of the 19th century and built a store, flour mill and carriage factory there.[1] In 1922, the city of Ottawa bought the island from Cummings' sons. Since 1923, the island has been uninhabited.[1]

Another island with the same name is located at 50°01′19″N 94°42′05″W / 50.021809°N 94.701488°W / 50.021809; -94.701488 in Ontario.[3]
