David Tritton was a fluid dynamicist.
Tritton was born in Slough on 26 July 1935.[1] He received his PhD under Alan Townsend at Cambridge on "Experiments on Flow past Cylinders and Free Convection" .[2] Subsequently, he worked at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK. He was a visiting professor in Texas when he died on 24 April 1998 .[3]
Tritton is best known for his widely read textbook "Physical Fluid Dynamics".[4]
