Debra Teare
Debra Teare (born 1955) is an American artist and "One of the most successful trompe l’oeil painters today.[1] Before switching to oils, Teare spent the first portion of her career "large photorealistic drawings in black and white" charcoals.[1]
Teare grew up in the Cache Valley, Utah and studied Illustration at Utah State University (though dropped out of the course).[2] She began her career in New York City and currently resides in Providence, Utah. She belongs to the Allied Artists of America and was a founding member of the International Guild of Realism.
Her work usually consists of precise photo-realist paintings of still life objects.[2]
She is married to artist Brad Teare[3] and has a daughter, Ashley.[2]
