Derek Twine CBE (born 1951) is a British journalist who served as the Chief Scout Executive of the Scout Association from 1997 to 2012. He is Chair of Bradford Cathedral Council, Vice-Chair of Church Urban Fund (CUF), and a National Trust Council member.
He was an instructor and then a local Scout leader from 1968 to 1976, and then at the Scout Association Headquarters he held various positions. In 2012, Twine was awarded the 340th Bronze Wolf, the only distinction of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, awarded by the World Scout Committee for exceptional services to world Scouting.[1] He retired as CEO in 2013.[2] He serves as Chair of Bradford Cathedral Council [3] and Deputy Chair of the Church Urban Fund[4] as well as being a Council member of the National Trust.
