Dian Pramana Poetra (born Dian Pramana Putra; April 2, 1961) is an Indonesian singer, songwriter and musician. Poetra is an member of pop jazz music group 2D with Deddy Dhukun for hits single "Keraguan" which written by themselves.
Early life
Dian Pramana Poetra was born on April 2, 1961, on Medan, North Sumatera, to Sumiati Sutiko. He was grew up in Jakarta. Since primary school, his talent is already visible, including singing. In 1978, Putra often performed in TV national, such as Wisata Nada, Lagu Untuk Anak and Chandra Kirana. Putra had reaching third winner through the song "Pengabdian" in 1980 Lomba Cipta Lagu Remaja Festival.
Career
In late 1983, Putra first appeared and instantly captivate to public in Indonesian music industry. His debut album Indonesian Jazz Vocal had released with hits single, such as "Kusabar Menanti" and "Melati di Atas Bukit". Putra also making his album in such a way, like about outpouring of his heart.
In addition as singer, Putra also had playing some instrument music. His second studio albums Indonesian Jazz Vocal: Intermezzo was released on 1984. In his album, Putra always giving the genre for jazz, latin and rhythm guitars for arrangements music.
For his successful in two albums, Putra had reach supported his companions, such as Erwin Gutawa, Tito Sumarsono, Dodo Zakaria, and other. Putra began working his third album with two Indonesian arrangers Billy Budiarjo and Bagoes AA. After that, Putra return showing his extinction for his collaboration album (also his third studio album), entitled Dian-Jockie S on 1986 with Jockie Soerjoprajogo.
After his three studio albums released, Putra glanced Grammy Record with carrying the song "Lima Menit Lagi" (1988), "Seakan Tiada Akhir" an duet song with Andi Meriem (1990) and "Gadis di Cafetaria" (1989).
In addition as solo singer, Putra also forming a member group with Bagoes AA and Deddy Dhukun, namely K3S. After that, he with a group making singles, such as "Wanita", "Kebohongan", "Cinta dan Waktu", and "17 Tahun Ke Atas" which had admitted that by written lyrics a little bit vulgar. Due to their popularity single, this group had reached positive response from Indonesian public. The group releasing the 1987 studio album, O'Ya and its had reached attention from music critics.
In late 2014, Putra with musician Fariz RM has releasing a compilation album Fariz RM & Dian PP In Collaboration With[1] and had collaboration to many artist, such as Sammy Simorangkir and Glenn Fredly.
