Diljott is an actress working in films. She is recognized for her talent, dedication and passion for Cinema. She also loves singing and dancing. A beauty with brains, she has also been excellent in academics throughout. Having worked in hit Punjabi films and songs, she enjoys a huge fan base. Having given power packed performances in Punjabi cinema, her films 'Teshan' and Yaar Annmulle 2' releases in 2016. She is a part of Hollywood film '5 Weddings' which shall release worldwide in 2017. Her another upcoming punjabi film 'Punjabi By Nature', directed by Gurbir Grewal shall release in 2017.She is also passionate about serving the humanity and contributes continuously towards betterment of the society.

Career

Cinema has always attracted Diljott since childhood. She is a natural actress and believes that acting and singing are her inborn traits and strengths and believes that learning is an ongoing process and one can always hone up one’s skills.^[1] A trained Kathak, Western and a folk dancer, Diljott enjoys pursuing her career in the creative field and her performances are earning accolades worldwide. She also attended Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepares, Mumbai. After being clicked by ace photographer, Dabboo Ratanani, she featured in advertisements for Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, various clothing brands and on cover pages of various national magazines. Being a Punjabi, her love for Punjabis, Punjabi language and Punjabi culture attracted her to do Punjabi films. Though she is fluent in English, Hindi and Punjabi and would love to do Hindi and English films as well but Punjabi films are always her first love.She featured in a hit Punjabi song ‘Patiala Peg’ opposite Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh,^[2] which became a superhit track worldwide and Diljott’s performance got noticed and appreciated.^[3] She also did a film as a lead ‘Idiot Boys’ in 2014, which got critical acclaim. She also featured in a Punjabi folk song ‘Sohni- The Real Punjaban’ and her Punjabi avatar in this got a thumbs up. Diljott’s three upcoming films as a lead actress are ‘Teshan’^[4] (Released on 23 September 2016),^[5][6] ‘Punjabi By Nature’ and ‘Yaar Annmulle 2’.^[7] Her film Teshan got a huge public response and has been loved by people far and wide.^[8] 'Yaar Annmulle 2' shall release on 23 December 2016 and 'Punjabi By Nature' shall release in 2017.^[9] Her Hollywood film '5 Weddings'^[10] shall release in May 2017.^[11] She is a star performer on stage as well. Besides being an artist, she is a philanthropist and a social worker also and is working with an NGO and contributes her bit towards the betterment of the society.

Personal life

Diljott was born to a reputed Punjabi family. At the very young age of 23 years, she has achieved quite a lot. With both parents doctors and an elder brother, she has full support of her family while she pursues a career in the cinematic field. Her family believes her to be their lucky charm.^[12] Besides being an artist, she is very intelligent and highly educated. A star student, she has excelled in academics right from school to college to university. Diljott has done her Masters in Human Rights and Duties from Panjab University, Chandigarh and stood first in the University for which she was honored with a University Gold medal. She was also decorated as a University Gold medalist also for her Graduation, Bachelor of Arts (Majors in Psychology and Journalism), Panjab University, Chandigarh.^[13] Besides this, she has done her schooling from Delhi Public School, Chandigarh and has been a topper throughout. She has always remained an all rounder and excelled in extra curricular activities and held various leadership roles also. She also remained very active in sports and believes in remaining physically fit and healthy.^[14] Diljott believes in continuous hard work and living each moment to the fullest.

A firm believer of serving the society and making this world a better place to live for everyone, Diljott loves to be of service to humanity and spreading happiness. In fact her passion for doing social work derived her to pursue her master's degree course in Human Rights. For the two years while she was pursuing her degree, she also did a lot of research and field work and prepared a thesis on differently abled and the elderly in the society.Infact her paper entitled 'Human Rights Concerns of the Differently Abled: A Brief Study' got selected and published in the International Journal of Humanities and Social Studies ('The IJHSS' Journal, Volume IV, Issue II, February 2016).She visits old age homes, orphanages, slums on several different occasions and share moments of joy with them. She is currently also working with NGO Arrive Safe, an Indian NGO working on road safety. In the past, she has also been involved in the activities of United Nations Association, India and had the opportunity to visit United Nations headquarters at Geneva, Switzerland in 2014. Diljott is noble and a philanthropist to the heart and will continue striving hard to spread happiness in her own way.
