DreamFunded is a Silicon Valley based equity crowdfunding platform that offers liquidity for employees and early investors in pre-IPO tech companies.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11]

History

The company launched in fall 2014[12][13] with Manny Fernandez as the CEO.[7][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21] Fernandez was recognized as the San Francisco Investor of the year in 2014.[22][23][24][25][26][27][28] DreamFunded funds tech startups[29] and capitalizes on the equity crowdfunding market.[12][30][31][32][33]

The company serves as a crowdfunding platform as well as an online marketplace.[34][35][36] Membership is limited to investors who meet the SEC self-accreditation requirements.[37] The company is the first private tech stock market for Silicon Valley providing liquidity to employees and access to investors.[4][38][39]

After implementation of the JOBS Act in May 2016, of DreamFunded's membership and investment requirements will open up to include non-accredited investors who can then access DreamFunded investments.[4][40][41][42][43]

DreamFunded became the 1st San Francisco based company to be approved by FINRA / SEC as a registered funding portal. It is also the 1st Latino founded and lead approved equity crowdfunding platform in the world.[44]

The company and its founders have been noted in two book publications on angel investing[45] and appeared on numerous media reports such as Forbes,[8] Inc. Magazine,[24] CNBC[6][16][46] Squawk Box,[16] TechCrunch, Fortune,[47] Entrepreneur Magazine,[10] Fast Company,[31] Fox News,[30] Wall Street Journal,[9] ABC[32] and others.[15][48][17][18][19][49][50][51][52][53]
