Eccodek is a Canadian musical group, known for their fusion of world music and electronic music styles.[1] The band's core member is Andrew McPherson,[1] and a rotating collective of musicians collaborates on the band's releases[1] — most notably, Kiran Ahluwalia contributed to the band's 2005 album Voices Have Eyes.[1]
They have twice been shortlisted for the Juno Award for World Music Album of the Year, for Shivaboom at the Juno Awards of 2009[2] and for Singing in Tongues at the Juno Awards of 2015.[3]
McPherson formed the band in the late 1990s as a side project to his work as a session musician and producer for artists such as Jane Siberry, Natalie MacMaster and GusGus.[1] The band signed to White Swan World, a subsidiary of Rykodisc, in 2006.[1]
