The Elmvale Jungle Zoo is a zoo in Springwater, Ontario, Canada. Seasonal Business open Victoria Day weekend until Thanksgiving weekend. It was founded in 1967 and has more than 300 animals.[1]
It is run by Sam Persi, whose family purchased the zoo in 1972.[2] When established the zoo was only 2 acres and exhibited mainly reptiles and birds. It has now grown to include over 300 animals from around the world such as South America, Australia, Africa, and Asia.
It is located 30 mins north of Barrie, Ontario, near Elmvale, Ontario. The zoo covers 25 acres. The Elmvale Zoo is a popular destination for school field-trips in the region, with the zoo seeing 150 trips during June alone.[3]
