Endomondo is a social fitness network created by Endomondo LLC which allows users to track their fitness and health statistics with a mobile application and website. Endomondo launched in 2007 with the goal of motivating people to lead healthier lives.[1]

In February 2015, Endomondo was acquired by athletic apparel maker, Under Armour, for $85 million. Endomondo, at that time, had over 20 million users.[2][3][4]

Health tracking

Endomondo can track numerous fitness attributes such as running routes, distance, duration, and calories. The software can help analyze performance and recommends improvements.[5]

Versions

There is a free and a paid version available of Endomondo, the free version has commercial advertisements. The paid Premium version is free of advertisements and includes additional features such as the possibility to create your own training plan. The offering of additional features is different between the platforms Android, IOS and Windows.

Challenges

Endomondo offers challenges of various types to the user, including the possibility to create challenges.
