Fatherland (1986 film)
For the alternative history film, see Fatherland (1994 film).
Fatherland is a 1986 film about a German singer-songwriter, directed by Ken Loach and starring Gerulf Pannach, Fabienne Babe, Cristine Rose and Sigfrit Steiner.
The film is one of Loach's least-popular films, and was referred to as "a mess" in a 2016 Guardian article on the director.[1] As the film was partly in German, its audience was limited in English-speaking countries, where foreign-language films were uncommon in the 1980s. Between its cinematic release and the 2013 DVD release, the film was rare.
