Festival of Europe

The London Festival of Europe is an annual series of public lectures, debates and art events held in a variety of high-profile venues in London each March.

The first London Festival of Europe was organised in 2007 to mark the 50th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome. The opening lecture was given by Polish sociologist Zygmunt Bauman.

The second London Festival of Europe is in March 2008. The opening lecture is being given by Bernard Stiegler, philosopher and director of the Centre for Cultural Development at the Centre Pompidou in Paris.

From 2010 onwards, the Festival changed its name to Transeuropa Festival, becoming a nomadic festival taking place in multiple cities across Europe.

The Festival is organised and coordinated by European Alternatives and was established by Niccolò Milanese and Lorenzo Marsili.
